This wonderful local Highland Games is held every year on the fourth Saturday of August.
In the morning the local farmers compete with their livestock, cattle and sheep.
Later see the opening parade led by the chieftain, followed by the Clan MacThomas and the local pipe band. Learn the history of the Clan.
Highland dancing competitions, heavyweight competitions including the famed tossing the caber, tug of war and plenty more.
There are plenty of things for you to do. You can join the games in the ring from rolling large bales to tilting the bucket, from pillow fighting (adults and children!!) to musical cars - many of these games are not found anywhere else in Scotland!!
